The day has finally come
Le jour est enfin arrivé
Dear readers, I am always so happy when I get to sit down and write to you all. There is so much happening at the Château right now, well I should say ‘was happening’, it’s August, and everyone in France seems to think that they do not have to work during the month of August. How do you drive an American crazy? Hand them the keys to a Château, have them hire a whole load of French workers, and then have the workers say that they will see them next month because they are going on vacation! Lol…
Every room in the entire Château has been stripped of its wall paper. Doorways that have long been closed for unknown reasons, have been reopened. But today is not about those things. I promise a soon to come post with a gazillion photographs of rooms that are now ready for electric, plumbing, and heating. Todays post is in regards to the long awaited video tour of the Château. YouTube can be daunting. There are quite a number of Château channels on YouTube, and we needed to find a look, or a style that was different from the rest. We have long talked about doing LIVE to video broadcasts, but it simply was not jelling. There is a wonderful manor house in England that does live to video, and they have a lot of money behind their production. Cameramen, lighting, professional editing, and it’s just not possible for us to achieve that level of quality. And if you know me, it’s go big, or go home! So we have finally settled on the personal touch, with a touch of humor. Phillip is the star, cameraman, lighting and sound engineer, and script supervisor. I am editor in chief from my room at the re-learning center. (I use re-learning because rehab has such negative connotations!)
Today, Wednesday, August 10th, 2022 is our launch date, and I hope you will all grab a cup, glass, bottle, or two (see, here comes the Rehab jokes!!), and watch our first two videos. Please like the videos and subscribe to the channel as it will help get us off the ground.

Chers lecteurs, je suis toujours si heureuse lorsque je peux m'asseoir et vous écrire à tous. Il se passe tellement de choses au Château en ce moment, enfin je devrais dire "se passait", c'est le mois d'août, et tout le monde en France semble penser qu'il ne faut pas travailler pendant le mois d'août. Comment rendre un Américain fou ? Donnez-lui les clés d'un château, faites-lui embaucher un tas de travailleurs français, et faites-lui dire par les travailleurs qu'ils les verront le mois prochain parce qu'ils partent en vacances ! Lol...
Chaque pièce du château a été dépouillée de son papier peint. Les portes qui ont été fermées pendant longtemps pour des raisons inconnues ont été rouvertes. Mais aujourd'hui, il ne s'agit pas de ces choses. Je vous promets un article à venir avec des milliards de photos de pièces qui sont maintenant prêtes à recevoir l'électricité, la plomberie et le chauffage. L'article d'aujourd'hui concerne la visite vidéo tant attendue du château. YouTube peut être décourageant. Il y a un grand nombre de chaînes de Château sur YouTube, et nous devions trouver un look, ou un style, différent des autres. Nous avons longtemps parlé de faire des diffusions LIVE to video, mais cela ne collait pas. Il y a un merveilleux manoir en Angleterre qui fait du direct à la vidéo, et ils ont beaucoup d'argent derrière leur production. Caméramans, éclairage, montage professionnel, et il nous est tout simplement impossible d'atteindre ce niveau de qualité. Et si vous me connaissez, c'est "go big, or go home" ! Nous avons donc finalement opté pour la touche personnelle, avec une pointe d'humour. Phillip est la vedette, le caméraman, l'ingénieur du son et de l'éclairage et le superviseur du scénario. Je suis rédacteur en chef depuis ma chambre au centre de réapprentissage. (J'utilise le terme réapprentissage parce que la réhabilitation a des connotations si négatives !)
Aujourd'hui, mercredi 10 août 2022, c'est la date de notre lancement, et j'espère que vous allez tous prendre une tasse, un verre, une bouteille, ou deux (voilà les blagues sur la désintoxication !), et regarder nos deux premières vidéos.
