One more day
It has been incredibly difficult to find moments to focus on writing with all that is coming to a head tomorrow, Monday September 6th, at 11am. At that appointed hour we will take pen in hand and have our names added to a deed that goes back 700 years, with hopes that our names will still appear on that deed 700 years in the future! This has surely been a mad dash of crossing t’s and dotting i’s, and making sure that every duck that is not bound for the foie gras plant is in a row. The Village is all in a buzz about the new owners of the Château, and with keys in hand we will swing the gates open and welcome them. The village only has 46 inhabitants, and most have never seen the Château… With bottles of chilled champagne, and local whites and rosés on ice, we will graciously show them around what we cannot help but call the “Before”!
As the dust settles and we begin to explore what we just purchased I will carve out time to write to you all and begin to reveal the secrets of Château d’Avensac!
